Dubai places considerable importance on the maritime industry in its wider plans to continue to diversify its economy.
Dubai has carved out a position as one of the giants of international shipping and maritime activities. The maritime sector accounts for $7.3 billion or around 7% of GDP. The sector is also responsible for around 3.3% of the Dubai’s jobs, with some 76,200 people working in maritime-related industries.
